He, however, suffered from drug addiction – which was introduced to him by his father when he was six – and often ran into problems with the law. He had been arrested severally for the possession of heroin; cocaine, etc and it nearly ended his acting career.
Luckily, when his career was almost a forgotten issue, he came back to the scene with his role as Iron Man in the Avengers series. The movie pushed him back to the forefront and made him regain his pride and popularity among movie fans.
