He worked as an art director of set and props in the 1998 John Hamburg crime comedy film Safe Men. The film follows two aspiring lounge singers who are mistaken for safecrackers. It starred Sam Rockwell, Steve Zahn, Harvey Fierstein, Michael Lerner, and Paul Gambit.
As an artist, his works have been exhibited in galleries and museums, including the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, the Rubin Museum of Art in New York, and the 2002 Biennial Exhibition at the Whitney Museum of Art in New York. Vincent Mazeau and Jenna Lyons crossed paths in the 1990s and married in 2002. They didn’t have a child immediately; it was four years later that they had their one and only child, a son named Beckett Lyons Mazeau, born on October 3, 2006.
The artist and set designer became a stay-at-home dad to help raise Beckett. There were claims that Lyons asked him to stop working and take care of their son in exchange for a $5 million-plus annual salary from her company, J.Crew. However, another claim suggested that she never asked him to quit, it was his decision.
Nine years later, Mazeau and Lyons divorced in 2011. After the divorce, Lyons started a relationship with fellow fashion industry personality Courtney Crangi.
